Snow White Inspired Vow Renewal

Posted on Feb 14, 2017 in Featured, Stylized Shoots | 0 comments

Once upon a time…

Shari & Kyle have been together over 6 years & other than their wedding they have never had professional photos taken together. Being a hopeless romantic at heart, Shari loves any story about true love, including all fairytales, her favorite being Snow White. Knowing this, I suggested we do a mini vow renewal inspired by the story of Snow White instead of just a simple couple’s session. Incorporating trends occurring with today’s weddings, we created a whimsical story of Shari & Kyle’s own personal fairy tale. Shari donned a backless Allure gown & carried a Marsala toned bouquet.

The natural landscape of the snow & tall pine trees created the perfect setting while Just Lovely Weddings & Events created a charming ceremony backdrop out of gold leaves & red apples. Little red hearts inspired by the huntsman aspect of the story, strung in the trees just in time for Valentine’s Day. All in all it was a perfect day & Shari & Kyle said they had a great time recreating this classic story.

Glam Halloween – Tennessee

Posted on Oct 29, 2016 in Featured, Stylized Shoots | 0 comments

This is a glam & glittery Halloween wedding designed & coordinated by Lesley with LB Floral. She kept it chic & clean but threw in a little hint of goth here & there. Lesley chose a grey lace dress to have something a little different than the normal white, & it perfectly complemented the florals she designed. The Standard provided a beautiful backdrop for this shoot with a little bit of a mussed feel, & the teals beautifully contrasted with the darker colors used in the accessories.

Where the Wild Things Are – Styled

Posted on Oct 25, 2016 in Featured, Stylized Shoots | 0 comments

Each season we discover unique clients that enjoy expressing themselves through their wedding day. As wedding professionals we often dream of how we would describe ourselves in a unique way to show future clients that we can work with them to get outside the typical wedding box. We love taking something seemingly so ordinary & turning it into an extraordinary experience. This is where our idea for a Where the Wild Things Are photoshoot began. We wanted to take a childhood story we all know & love & find a way to turn it into a love story. One you could center your wedding on, pulling out layers of details that make the touching words & details of the book carry throughout. We wanted to incorporate many of these scenes from the book, as well as pull in lines from the story to tuck into each scene. From Max’s bedroom growing into the world all around him, to him sailing to some far off land to find his wild thing. Max is made king & makes his wild thing his queen. Their entire day is spent in the wilderness, embracing the beautiful scenery around them. Layering in details of leathers & fur, hinting that the wild things are close by. From the wild picked florals to the hair & bark & feather details in our cake. We cared the beautiful & playful details throughout this wedding. Ending our day of extraordinary adventure with a wild rumpus. And as Max & his bride awake to find they have returned home, they realized they were where someone loved them the most.

Old Schoolhouse Styled

Posted on Oct 7, 2016 in Featured, Stylized Shoots | 0 comments

This heartwarming shoot tells the story of a beloved school teacher getting married. Every element was inspired by a one room schoolhouse feel, from the chalkboard cake, to the long sleeved lace dress, to the tiny apple looking berries in the bouquet.

The gorgeous fall evening in Southern Indiana provided magical light for our photographer, Evy Porter of Evangeline Renee, to capture beautiful images. Evy initially had the inspiration for the theme & enlisted Alea Stanley of Aisle Ready Events to bring her vision to life.

Molly & Myrtle provided all floral designs as well as several vintage rentals. The delicate flower crowns for our flower girls consisted of vinca, fuchsia gomphrena, & limelight hydrangea, while the junior bouts for our suspendered schoolboys were boxwood, crab apple fruit, & white tipped hemlock. The bridal bouquet has a hand-gathered & fresh from the wild feel, made up of cockscomb, spray roses, & heirloom selections including “kiss me over the garden gate” & rich hyacinth bean vine. Artisan greenery of painted fern & variegated solomon’s seal completed the bouquet. An authentic look was achieved by using all native & locally grown blooms.

To transform this beautiful model into a glowing bride, hairstyling was provided by Jennae Schenk of Elegant Hair Designs & makeup was provided by Makeup by JennaMarie. The gorgeous lace bridal gown & lace trimmed cathedral length veil, both provided by Nancy’s Bridal Boutique, brought a rich elegance to the earthy setting.

The budding fall colors, soft cream of the gown, & lively young models brought this one hundred & three year old schoolyard back to life.

Styled Missouri Wedding

Posted on Sep 24, 2016 in Featured, Stylized Shoots | 0 comments

From the Photographer: This styled shoot started as nothing more than a strong desire to meet & connect with some of my favorite local wedding vendors. As I began putting the shoot together, the vision became increasingly clear. Once our venue, an old waterworks plant from the mid-1900s turned restaurant & event space, confirmed their availability, it cemented the rustic concept & I ran with it.

I connected with an incredible real couple, Jacqueline & Nick, that agreed to model & started the process of inviting & securing vendors to collaborate. Flowers from an amazing florist, a custom tailored suit, a nearly naked cake with floral accents, a custom invitation suite, hand lettered envelopes & seating chart, & custom, handmade lapel pin & bow ties brought the whole day together. Combined with the incredible tablescape & hair/makeup, it made for a beautifully rustic setting to showcase the fun, loving personality of our couple.

We ended up with 14 amazing vendors involved, beautifully prepared settings, & images that managed to capture the essence & passion of the professionals involved.

Southwestern Bridal Inspiration

Posted on Sep 3, 2016 in Featured, Stylized Shoots | 0 comments

From the Photographer: On a recent trip to New Mexico, where I had a few vendor contacts, & was able to style a shoot over the course of time I was there. I specifically wanted to shoot a session that was in the southwest & brought out a few features of the desert. Our inspiration was a mix of spring & boho. Settling on the Foothills of the Sandia Mountains for our location, we were surrounded by the perfect combination of lava rocks, cacti & golden light.
