Snow White Inspired Vow Renewal

Posted on Feb 14, 2017 in Featured, Stylized Shoots | 0 comments

Once upon a time…

Shari & Kyle have been together over 6 years & other than their wedding they have never had professional photos taken together. Being a hopeless romantic at heart, Shari loves any story about true love, including all fairytales, her favorite being Snow White. Knowing this, I suggested we do a mini vow renewal inspired by the story of Snow White instead of just a simple couple’s session. Incorporating trends occurring with today’s weddings, we created a whimsical story of Shari & Kyle’s own personal fairy tale. Shari donned a backless Allure gown & carried a Marsala toned bouquet.

The natural landscape of the snow & tall pine trees created the perfect setting while Just Lovely Weddings & Events created a charming ceremony backdrop out of gold leaves & red apples. Little red hearts inspired by the huntsman aspect of the story, strung in the trees just in time for Valentine’s Day. All in all it was a perfect day & Shari & Kyle said they had a great time recreating this classic story.

New Mexico Mountain Bridal

Posted on Aug 5, 2016 in Featured, Stylized Shoots | 0 comments

New Mexico is full of hidden gems & this location & team of vendors are no exception. This New Mexico Bridal shoot has style, grace & a stunning backdrop to feed all your Southwest destination wedding dreams!

Paa-ko Ridge is a New Mexico treasure nestled in the Sandia Mountains, hidden from view. The beautifully manicured golf course lays throughout the lush valley, with a rising mountain backdrop to complete the epic views. This hidden gem is may be one of New Mexico’s most beautiful wedding venues, & it provided all the gorgeous scenery for our bridal inspiration shoot.I love photographing brides; it’s the reason I got in to wedding photography. There is something so magical when a bride slips into her gown. She shines with radiance & confidence unlike any other. Bridal gowns are often the most expensive garment a woman will ever wear, & only wearing it once seems like such a shame that we love it when brides let us dress them up & photograph them away from the chaos of the wedding day. Getting gorgeous images out of the deal is the cherry on top!

We get to work with such amazing vendors throughout the state, & this team helped us hit it out of the park. Emily of Floriography, NM has such a vision for beautiful blooms. The bouquet & hairpiece she provided for this bridal shoot were perfect & unique, complete with pink pineapples! Bridal Elegance by Darlene provided the gorgeous Allure Bridals blush ballgown, & C. Johnson Makeup created the side swept do & bridal look. We love working with such awesome people!

New Mexico Sandia Wedding

Posted on Sep 17, 2015 in Featured, Photography, Real Weddings | 0 comments

This gorgeous New Mexico Sandia wedding has a perfect backdrop of a huge mountain range, big fluffy clouds & an adorable couple madly in love!

From the Photographer: Nicole & Philip are two of the most kind people you will ever meet & their wedding was nothing short of spectacular. They planned for a lovely wedding at Sandia Resort out on the driving range of the beautiful golf course overlooking the Sandia Mountain range & the reception was going to follow on the outdoor patio. As storm clouds rolled in & the wind picked up to over 25 miles per hour it was decided a back up plan needed to be made. Sandia had just finished constructing a beautiful new event center & they opened the doors & allowed Nicole & Philip to have the very first wedding to take place there. The storm made for the most beautiful backdrop for photos so in the end everything worked out flawlessly. Event coordinator, Alena Swanson did an amazing job bringing Nicole’s idea’s to life. The couple said their I do’s under handmade reclaimed doors gracing their names & guest threw lavender seeds in lieu of blowing bubbles. Delicate baby,s breaths graced the aisle & tables & guest snacked on a delicious dessert table full of whoopie pies, cakepops & homemade fudge! To wrap up the perfect evening the couple excited their reception with guests holding sparklers down the stairs to the resort.

Posted on Feb 16, 2016 in Featured, Stylized Shoots | 0 comments

From the Photographer: This Whimsical Winter Wedding decorated with soft romantic accents with a pink, ivory & gold pallet – this styled wedding was divine in more ways than one. With swoon worthy cake, cigar & champagne table(s), the accents were exquisitely dressed with the most beautiful of floral arrangements. As two dresses completed the look – the first, a blush dress with delicate beading & the second an ivory dress adorned with beautifully elegant embellishments, the theme was flawlessly transitioned from a day to night.

Foothills Wedding in Albuquerque New Mexico

Posted on Jun 15, 2015 in Featured, Photography, Real Weddings | 0 comments

Intimate, beautiful & full of love, These are the best words to describe this Foothills wedding in Albuquerque New Mexico. The purple Sandia mountains in the background are complemented by the purple & red blooms the bride chose for the bouquets. Kelly & KC kept their wedding guests list small & had the ceremony & reception at KC’s parents house right in the foothills of the mountains which could not have a better view or backdrop for the ceremony.

From the Bride:

So I had already agreed to move with KC across the country for his job. We were moving in two days. I was living with my dad at the time & of course I was going crazy on what clothes to bring. I was in the living room & my dad said you should go sleep at KC’s parents tonight. I said no I have too much to do & I need to go to the gym tomorrow. My dad said I’ll bet you $20 you’re not going but listen to your dad & spend some time with KC & his family tonight. So of course I went & stayed the night there.

KC woke me up early & asked what was all over the floor & the window had opened in the middle of the night. There were rose petals & Hershey kisses all over the floor into the other room. There was champagne & a little note that said “I kiss the ground you walk on & shower you with roses” & he got down on one knee & asked!

I went upstairs to his whole family (mom, dad, 2 sisters, niece, nephew, & my soon to be step daughter). There were flowers everywhere & an engagement banner across the fire place). I called my family to tell them the news & now I know why my dad said I wouldn’t be making it to the gym that morning. My family & everyone had an amazing breakfast together starting a new chapter in all of our lives. A few days before KC took his mom, sister, niece, & daughter to pick out the ring. It was the second one they looked at from Mark Diamonds (which is local).

We tried to use all local vendors & keep it very intimate. We had 58 people & each & every person has been a big part of our lives. Even our vendors felt like family (Blue Rose, wedding planner, & cater). We did a sand ceremony with Dylinn symbolizing the 3 of us becoming a family. Getting married at KC’s parents house was so special because we get to go back to our venue several times throughout the year which is so awesome! Our wedding planner was amazing Maria Socha (Sealed with a Kiss-local) was a true blessing to us as well! Walking down the aisle with my dad seeing everyones’ loving faces was the most emotional time of my life.

Maria Socha from Sealed with a Kiss was our coordinator – SWAK

Flowers & More (Jennifer) did our flowers.

A Family friend of KC’s- Jim Schumacher from Cooperage and Scarpa’s (local) was our caterer. He was so wonderful sitting down with us making the menu and honesty some of the best food I’ve had to this day. He even surprised us with a special dish from Italy.

We decided to get chocolate & raspberry mousse cups from Whole Foods since I’ve love moose & it’s fun for everybody. We had a little wedding cake from Flying Star called Raspberry Blackout Cake which is my ultimate favorite

I got my dress at Brides by Demetrios-  it was the second one I tried on.

We got the groom’s attire from Men’s Warehouse.

Our friend Michael Gallegos DJ for us.

Our Save the Dates KC & I did on Shutterfly which was a lot of fun! The pictures on them were taken by his sister Jenny who was my Maid of Honor. Our actual wedding invitations my wedding planner Maria helped me & we did those on Zazzle.

A Family friend, Jeff Burrows married us which was so special. Him & his wife Robin did so much for us. We had our rehearsal dinner at their house & Jeff built the chuppah we got married under. He also came up with a great idea that during our ceremony each of our parents would tell story about us. KC & I did not know the story until they read it which was very special for us.
